EXECUTIVE BOARD

Co-President: Anita Jegarl '18​

​

Anita Jegarl is a senior Human Development major in the College of Human Ecology. She is concentrating in Neuroscience and is also pursuing a minor in Music. Anita is also a research assistant in the Affect and Cognition Lab and is currently completing an honors thesis. She hopes to attend medical school after taking a gap year. Outside of AED, Anita is a member of the Cornell University Chorus and the lead design editor for The Research Paper. She also likes to play with cats while volunteering with the Tompkins County SPCA. 

Co-President: Stefan Schoen '18

​

Stefan Schoen is a senior studying Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences. He is looking forward to his gap year before medical school during which he plans on teaching for City Year. In addition to serving as Co-President, Stefan is working on an honors thesis in the Levitsky Lab, is a TA for BIOMG 3300, and is a member of CUEMS.  You can reach him at scs285@cornell.edu.  

Vice-President: Dhanesh Binda '18

​

Dhanesh plans on applying to MD programs after graduation and taking a gap year. His current career goals include becoming a Neurosurgeon and possibly obtaining a PhD in Biomedical Sciences. Dhanesh conducts lymphoma research in the Richards Lab, studying the SMOC2 gene and its role in chemotherapy. On campus, he is the co-head teaching assistant for BIOMG 3300 and an Organic Chemistry tutor for the CALS tutoring program. Dhanesh is also a member of the Biology Scholars Program, the Pre Professional Program, and Alpha Phi Omega. In his free time, Dhanesh loves playing basketball, tennis, and soccer.

Treasurer: Garrett Levesque '18​

​

Garett Levesque is a senior chemistry major. He plans to attend med school after graduation. Garrett is a violinist in the Cornell Symphony Orchestra, am participating in the Gannett Health Mentorship Shadowing Program. He is also a member of the Vitousek Lab focusing on response pathways in tree swallows. His net ID is gfl33.

Community Outreach Co-Chair: YongJae Park '19

YongJae Park is currently a junior majoring in HBHS in the College of Human Ecology. He is on a pre- med track and plans to attend medical school after graduating from Cornell. In addition to serving as the community outreach chair for AED, YongJae is also the Volunteer Coordinator of Y.O.U.R.S., Executive Vice President of Cornell Association of Medicine and Philanthropy, and works as an undergraduate research assistant in the Buchon Lab. 

Community Outreach Co-Chair: Juan Ramirez Correa '18​

Juan is a senior in the College of Arts in Sciences, majoring in Biology & Society, with a theme in Race, Gender, Health and Society. Juan plans on doing community health work in populations with queer and trans people of color during his gap year and ultimately plans on attending medical school and becoming an OB-GYN. Outside of AED, Juan is secretary for the Science Organization of Latinx's (SOL) and he is an intern for a community science project at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Historian: â€‹Brittany Tran '18

​

Brittany Tran is a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Chemistry and Chemical Biology with minors in East Asian Studies and Nutritional Sciences. Brittany hopes to attend medical school after graduating this May to study to become an interventional cardiologist. Brittany is also a third year returning RA in the Low Rises and is passionate about service to her community. She can be contacted at bat46@cornell.edu

Webmaster: Zehra Jafri '19​

Zehra Jafri is a junior with major and minor interests in Human Biology, Health, and society, biomedical engineering, and human development. She is a part of research on campus as a part of the Early Childhood Cognition Lab at Cornell, and off-campus at University of Massachusetts Medical School and at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital.  On campus she is on the the recruitment chair for the Cornell Undergraduate Research Board (CURB) as well as on the executive board for the Pakistani Students Association. During summers she likes to do research as well as working as a patient technician/emergency medical technician. Aside from managing the site you're currently on, Zehra loves making ceramics, playing basketball, baking, singing, and making quality memes. She can be reached at zj89@cornell.edu 

Member Relations: Samantha Rettig '18

Samantha Rettig is currently a senior in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, studying Epidemiology and Biostatistics. After graduating, Sam hopes to attend medical school. In addition to serving on the executive board of Alpha Epsilon Delta, Sam serves as Community Service Chair of Ho-Nun-De-Kah. You can reach her at sar277@cornell.edu

Social Chair: Chloe Citron '19

Chloe Citron is a junior Interdisciplinary Studies major studying biology and fine arts in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Chloe enjoys participating in clinical research over summer breaks, and hopes to attend medical school after graduating. She is passionate about drawing, painting, and sewing, and also loves animals, especially her two dogs.

Social Chair: Amrit Hingorani '20

Amrit Hingorani is a sophomore studying Biology in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He is concentrating in Cellular and Molecular Biology with minors in South Asian Studies, Business, Nutrition, and Global Health. His current career goals are obtaining an MD/PhD and either pursing a medical career or a one as a professor and researcher. Currently, Amrit conducts microvesicle research in the Cerione Lab, studying how lysosomal dysfuction plays a role in the formation and release of these entities. On campus, he is also a member of four club sports teams, Alpha Phi Omega, Alpha Zeta, Quizbowl, Biology Service Leaders, and a few other
organizations. In his free time, Amrit loves playing soccer, watching Netflix, and reading.
